Bill
Bill Sackter lutte pour faire face à la situation après que son meilleur ami et gardien, Barry Morrow et sa femme Beverly, aient déménagé. Bill emménage dans un foyer de groupe dirigé par Mae Driscoll qui lui apprend à lire. Bill découvre bientôt son héritage religieux, en surmontant l'incendie qui a accidentellement détruit sa petite cantine, puis se rend en Californie à la recherche des Morrow.
