Le fier et talentueux rônin Nemuri KYOSHIRO est chargé par le chef du clan des KAGA d'assassiner le vil expert en arts martiaux NOBUNAGA. Il s'agit en fait d'une ruse pour se débarrasser du dernier témoin d'un trafic de marchandises, qui pourrait dénoncer ces activités illégales au shogun. Découvrant la vérité, Nemuri tente de retrouver une mystérieuse statuette de jade contenant un document inculpant le chef des KAGA. En même temps, le rônin tombe amoureux de Chisa, censée l'espionner…
