Un jeune facteur apprend qu'il ne lui reste plus beaucoup de temps à vivre en raison d'une maladie en phase terminale. Un démon lui apparaît qui lui offre d'allonger sa vie s'il choisit quelqu'un dans le monde qui disparaîtra à sa place. L'homme pense à ses relations avec ses ex-amis, ex-petites amies, connaissances et collègues qui seront sincèrement tristes quand il mourra.
