In the Thicket
Durant l'ère Heian, pendant qu'ils traversent une forêt profonde le jeune samouraï Takehiro et son épouse Masako sont abordés par un voleur très intéressé par la femme. Le samouraï est attaché à un arbre pour voir sa femme subir les derniers outrages. Par la suite, il sera assassiné. Un jeune détective obstiné, et intrigué par les témoignages contradictoires, se rend sur place ; il veut découvrir qui a tué le samouraï.
