Comme toutes les adolescentes, Jane rêve de rencontrer son idole, JD McQuenn, popstar très en vogue. Sur une idée de son manager, JD retourne au lycée terminer ses études pour améliorer son image. Peu motivé, il choisit de s'adresser à Jane, intello complexée mais fan absolue, à qui il offre une voiture et qui, à son contact, devient très populaire. Alors qu'elle vit son plus beau rêve, Jane découvre que JD a fait tout cela par intérêt.
