Brian, un étudiant canadien prend la route seul a bord d'un van, afin de rejoindre le Colorado pour les vacances. Après être tombé en panne, il averti sa famille. Ce sera la dernière fois qu'ils auront de ses nouvelles. La police ne semblant pas prendre au sérieux cette disparition, la mère du jeune homme va mener, avec l'aide d'un détective privé, sa propre enquête afin de découvrir ce qui est arrivé a son fils...
